Our free design of Bespoke features

We specialise in designing features from your ideas or themes you may want. We offer a free site survey service incorporating digitally enhanced photography. We will provide a complete tailor - made feature, which will guarantee to be eye catching and effective, making your display unique and innovative.

Repairs and Refurbishment

Our modern workshop provides a full and comprehensive repair service, from a simple welding job, or an electrical fault, to a complete refurbishment.

All refurbished features are cleaned under a high-pressure wash and come back to you portable appliance tested, and as good as new. As part of this service we will do a free refurbishment health check of all your existing features on site where your features are stored. We would provide you with a full inventory report of your features and what is wrong with them. With a full quotation of the cost for repair. We would advise if the cost for refurbishment versus the cost for new features.

Digitally enhanced photography

This enables you to see how your features look in the street before you purchase them. We super-impose the features to the exact location where it will be displayed.

Manufacture

Manufacture of your Christmas features in our Bradford Based Workshop Festival lights provide a range of illuminated features for any celebration that add sparkle and brilliance to all occasions.

You can choose from a comprehensive range or design your own; using our in-house services.

All our features are manufactured in our workshop assuring quality at all times.

Manufacturing on site means you have more control over the design and production. It’s our aim to produce you a display specific to your requirements.

Our base in Bradford means there are no middle men and no problems with overseas deliveries.

Hire features

Have a different display every year through our Hire service.

We have a range of features for Hire. Alternatively we can manufacture a new design for you. The advantage of hiring features is you can have a new display at a cheaper price than purchasing features. You do not have the worry of maintaining the features of storing them.

Storage

Bolt Testing

Bolt testing (eyebolt testing) is the first service that Charlestown Ltd offers as part of the complete package. It is fundamental to any light installation to know that the anchor points used are correct and suitable for the installation. Also it is essential in this day and age to have carried out (and documented) testing of the anchor points.

Testing

Charlestown has a Hydrajaws “bolt tester” and this is used to carryout the anchor point testing. As can be seen from the photos below the eyebolt is checked for integrity (the testing is carried out the customer’s specification 5kn to 10kn is the normal range), and is then tagged to confirm testing. A full inventory is then submitted to confirm anchor point suitability

Installation

An installation of a failed bolt or new bolt is carried out using the same procedure. Charlestown Ltd uses “resin anchor points” please refer to the Hiliti Web site for the technical information regarding size, suitability and installation procedures.

Installation and dismantle

We work with qualified installation companies and Local Authority Street Lighting Departments to install and dismantle. We have a dedicated project technician who project manages the installation side and is your main point of contact to ensure your display looks fantastic from your dummy switch on until the day it is dismantled.

Free School Design Competition

We work with schools to run “Design a Christmas Light” Competitions. Schools organise competitions and select a winning design to be manufactured into an illuminated display.

We advise the school on what is required to produce a feature and show them previous examples of other competitions. We then reproduce the winning design into a working drawing for manufacture. The school get the chance to visit our site to see the feature being made. Children can contribute to the process further with a little hands-on experience by putting on the finishing touches themselves.
